Lancia SII Apiia in Blue
Delightful Series II Appia.
This was my personal car for many years and I enjoyed it immensley.
I bought it from a tremendously enthusiastic Lancia affictionado in Southern California, and when I was trying to work out shipping arrangements, he
simply got in it & drove it 500 miles north to San Francisco with no qualms.
I owned it for ages and sorted out all the little details I noticed.
When my fleet got too big and I needed another parking spot, I sold it to another tremendously enthusiastic Lancia enthusiast
( Who currently owns the Flaminia that is on this site as the barn find ) and he has taken the helm of ownership.
During his posession, he has done a down to bare metal repaint, and also a gorgeous fresh wool interior, both to a very high standard.
In due course, the motor has been apart and freshened, the brakes have been gone through, the front suspension was taken apart, cleaned, and adjusted. All the things
one would like to do, but the price would be prohibitive. Accordingly, this delicious Appia is being offered for sale at $25,000, a number below what it would cost to duplicate.
These are charming little cars. Easy to park, light to steer, and if you care, they get phenomenal mileage.
When you drive one, people smile.
They are wonderfully reliable when sorted, and an undiscovered gem in the automotive world where rising prices have placed many cars as more expensive than the houses they are garaged in.
Have a look at some of these photos, & be in touch if you would like to know more.
Happy Motoring !
The head was apart and a valve job was done
The pan was off for rings and new bearings while it was apart.....
Paint off.
After many many hours of sanding & correction, a sympathetic color primer was applied.
The gloss goes on.
Even the insides of the hood & trunk were attended to
Very clean under the hood...
Assembled & driving.
How it looks inside:
Here's a snap of the hydraulics of the front suspension when it was apart....
Ready to drive away
What a car !
It has found a new home, and is well cared for.
